Cathedral Green Awarded 2010 Hartford Preservation Alliance Award

An initiative of the Archdiocese of Hartford to fill a need in the Asylum Hill community for housing, Cathedral Green was borne to bring low-income housing to families on the verge of homelessness. This 60,000 adaptive reuse of the old St. Joseph Cathedral School has provided 28 two- and three-bedroom apartments to the community. Funding for the project was provided through Connecticut Housing Finance Authority, Next Steps Initiatives and tax credits from CT Light & Power. The successful team included Newfield Construction Inc. as Construction Manager, Brad Schide as Owner's Representative and Smith Edwards as the project's designer.
