Newfield Construction was selected from a prequalified group of Contractors to provide General Contracting services for the construction of a new 30,000sf dormitory and faculty housing facility on the campus of Williston Northampton School. The new dormitory will have 40 beds, restrooms and bath facilities, as well as various community spaces. In addition, there will be two duplex-style apartments to house four faculty families. The project will incorporate the school’s strong commitment to energy efficiency and environmental sustainability through the use of geothermal heating and cooling, high-efficiency fixtures and solar-heated hot water systems.

Newfield Construction’s aggressive approach to the project schedule will allow the School to occupy the facility prior to the start of the upcoming school year.

The project site is located in the middle of a very active school campus, requiring extensive planning to accommodate pedestrian and vehicular traffic. Newfield is working with school officials and the Design Team to assist in preparing a plan focused around minimal disruptions to the campus.

The new building will open onto a renovated green that will serve as an outdoor gathering space. The new floor plan includes a large common area for studying, socializing and collaborating for all students. The new facility will draw academically-talented students from around the world.

The faculty housing will enable Williston Northampton to attract and retain dedicated, high-quality faculty members.
