Newfield Construction has been selected to provide Pre-construction and Construction Management services for the improvements to Smalley Elementary School. The addition and renovation project will provide adequate and appropriate classroom space to accommodate the expected enrollment and programs of the school well into the future. The planned improvements will meet the current building code requirements related to program, health, safety and access.
The scope of the project will entail all spaces within the building including the classrooms, library and media center, auditorium, cafeteria, administrative offices, health services suite, and art, music, and gymnasium. The project will meet the high performance build specifications and adhere to LEED construction standards.
The purpose of this project is to meet several different education-related requirements as a K-5 Elementary School and provide modern computer labs as well as technology upgrades in all new classrooms. A Family Resource Center shall also be available to all parents/guardians. Extensive site improvements will also address bus and parent vehicular safety pattern issues.
Newfield will provide estimating and value management solutions throughout the Pre-construction phase, and work to develop a logistics plan to minimize disruption to the surrounding neighborhood.
