This Construction Manager at Risk project will renew the old Weaver High School for the City of Hartford.  This renovated “neighborhood” high school will focus its learning on three academies – Kinsella Magnet School of Performing Arts, High School, Inc., and Journalism and Media Academy Magnet School.

The existing building is designed for a student body of 2,000 and the renovated facility will educate 900.  Therefore the building will require an innovative approach for right sizing so that maximum project funding is realized from the State.  When constructed, this High Performance Building Standards facility will house 250,000sf of classrooms, common and support spaces.   Phase I of construction will include hazardous materials abatement and demolition.  Phase 2 will reconstruct the academic and auditorium wings and install a new multi-use artificial turf athletic field and track.
