Newfield Construction was awarded the Construction Management services for the Community Health Center’s Medical Office Building in Stamford, Connecticut. The existing building, constructed in 1973, will require substantial structural and building envelope improvements to accommodate the needs of CHC and to meet today’s codes.
The project funding sources require local hiring and new job creation which Newfield developed during the trade bidding and will track on a monthly basis. Because the project is an urban site, Newfield will need to carefully create and closely coordinate all site logistics, construction parking and material deliveries so as to not disrupt the neighboring businesses and residents.
The new center will serve as an anchor location for southern Connecticut and will meet the growing services offered by CHC and revitalize these service offerings to the community.
The site will provide primary medical care and behavioral health spaces organized into units of 7-8 client rooms each, all supported by the laboratory, dispensary, storage and open office space for healthcare providers. The project also includes administrative space and a community meeting room.
The new facility will achieve many objectives including premiere health care, functional design, work flow/balance, effective floor plan and natural light supporting CHC administration, healthcare, education and the platform of CHC offerings.
