As a leading provided of short-term and post-acute care rehabilitation programs in Northwestern Connecticut, additional space was needed to accommodate the patient demand on this healthcare provider. Patients enter the facility with serious issues such as cardiac, neurology, and wound management, so the facility must house the same systems as a typical bed-unit within an acute care hospital. Newfield was engaged to build a 10,300 square foot nursing unit addition. Included in this project were 30 inpatient beds, nursing stations, family waiting rooms, and other support spaces. Within the existing building, Newfield upgraded the hydraulic heat system and sprinklers and performed minor renovations.
