Bradley
International Airport
Windsor Locks, CT
Newfield completed multiple projects at Bradley International Airport prior to
its 2003 Terminal ‘A’ grand opening. Newfield was fortunate to have
the ability to contribute to this project of substantial relevance to the Hartford
and East Coast communities.
Terminal A Building Expansion
Newfield provided the general trade package for the 260,000 square foot expansion
of Terminal A and the East Concourse building. The expansion included 12 new
gates and jet bridges, airline operations and maintenance, ticket counters, waiting
areas, baggage, ground transportation areas and concessions. Newfield personnel
were required to obtain top security clearances for this post-9/11 facility development.
Maintenance Facility Building
To support new airport infrastructure, Newfield acted as General Contractor on
the new 26,000 square foot single-story maintenance facility. The building includes
a vehicle maintenance shop and wash area. A second vehicle storage facility with
attached, high-security hazardous waste storage was also part of Newfield’s
contract with the Department of Transportation.
Tenant Shops
Traveling through the new Terminal A is now exciting for passengers, with the
help of high-end retail shops within the secured area. Newfield assisted the
Paradies Shops in creating this inviting retail environment by providing a fast-track
schedule delivered on a tight budget. CNBC News, Heritage Valley Travel Mart, & Brooks
Brothers are now available to Bradley travelers.
