Plantsville Elementary School
Newfield is acting as Construction Manager on this 30,000 square foot “renovate-as-new” school.  17,000 square feet of additions will be included in this project to provide core facilities such as gymnasium, media center and cafeteria.

South End Elementary School
Acting as Construction Manager, Newfield is building a new 46,000 square foot school to accommodate a 300-student population.  Classrooms, gymnasium, cafeteria and all facilities required of a new elementary school will be built.

Carl M. Small Vo-Ag Center
Acting as Construction Manager, Newfield recently completed the new Carl M. Small Vocational-Agricultural Center, adjacent to Southington High. This new 28,000 square foot free-standing facility is for regional use providing services to young adults throughout the Southington area. Career building in the agricultural sciences will be encouraged through state-of-the-art laboratory and greenhouse facilities. Specialty areas include plant science, aquaculture, floral design, large and small animal care, biotechnology, agriculture mechanics shop for farm equipment repair and agriculture business management. In addition to this project, Newfield built a 4,300 square foot cafeteria addition to the existing High School for Vo-Ag student use and seven new tennis courts.

Strong & Hatton Elementary Schools
Newfield Construction was brought in to complete the renovations and additions at these two elementary schools. The school’s previous contractor closed their business, leaving the bonding company to select a firm to finish the work. Newfield was brought on as a Construction Manager and worked diligently to regain control of the project, project site and complications brought on by this unfortunate circumstance. Newfield met our schedule and budget in bringing these projects to fruition. The two-story Strong School required a 27,000 square foot renovation and 28,000 square foot addition of steel and masonry.

The one-story Hatton School also required renovation of 27,000 square feet plus a 47,000 square foot addition. The school was occupied with students during the renovation process. This project touches every aspect of renovations and was completed in 13-phases, minimizing educational disruption.
