Newfield Construction was selected from a prequalified group of contractors to provide general contracting services for constructing a new residence hall and faculty housing facility on the campus of Williston Northampton School. The new residence hall features 42 beds as well as various community spaces. In addition, two duplex-style apartments were constructed to house four faculty families. The project incorporates the school’s commitment to energy efficiency and environmental sustainability through geothermal heating and cooling, high-efficiency fixtures, and solar-heated hot water systems. The new residence hall opens onto a renovated green, serving as an outdoor gathering space.
Located in the middle of a very active school campus, Newfield worked with school officials and the design team to develop an over-project plan focused on minimal disruptions to the campus. Additionally, Newfield self-performed building envelope flashings and trim work and Division 10 specialties (i.e., toilet, accessories, lockers, etc.)
