The Town of East Hartford selected Newfield Construction to provide construction management services during the conversion of the former Blessed Sacrament Church into a new state-of-the-art senior center.
The new senior center features an open-space concept intended to promote easy circulation, social interaction, and safety. The space also includes a boutique and thrift store; a spacious, multi-purpose lounge with bookshelves and outlets for electronic devices and computers; a café; a conference room; an art room; two exercise rooms; a dining area with a kitchen that can be used for cooking classes; an outdoor terrace; and a media room for events and watching movies.
The senior center also features a photovoltaic system.
