Newfield Construction provided preconstruction and construction management services for the Wendell Cross Elementary School in Waterbury, CT. The 34-million-dollar project offers a new state-of-the-art facility for the East Mountain Community. The existing school was partly demolished, and reused a small portion of the building. Details included designing new bus and parent drop-off areas, parking, and limited site work because the school is isolated. Along with extensive renovations to the remaining building, the project entails all new classroom wings, a cafeteria, a media center, and necessary administrative offices. This is Newfield Construction’s fifth project for the City of Waterbury Public Schools.
