INNOVATION CENTER
Newfield constructed a 35,000-square-foot state-of-the-art research facility to take Pepperidge Farm to the next step in their corporate development. The building addition connects to the main headquarters by a glass-enclosed internal walkway that allows viewing of the process floor. The facility includes a pilot plant with product development and testing lines, high-end culinary kitchens, scientific labs, board rooms, offices, and meeting rooms. The center was designed as an environmentally friendly, LEED-certified (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) “green” building and employs a variety of energy efficiency, water conservation, and day-light harvesting techniques.

SITE REDEVELOPMENT AND ADDITION
Newfield worked closely with Pepperidge Farm to prepare the site and site utilities to accommodate a 5,000-square-foot office, laboratory, and loading dock addition. Extensive site work included blasting and rock removal to accommodate this new two-story structure. Newfield also relocated a 15,000lb diesel generator and constructed a new loading dock and maintenance area. In addition, all emergency power was relocated.
