To combat years of issues concerning mold, humidity, HVAC, and exterior envelope issues, the Town of Westport selected Newfield Construction to provide preconstruction and construction phase services for the complete rehabilitation of the Coleytown Middle School. The project addressed long-standing issues experienced over many years. It included a new building envelope to address water issues, new HVAC and air quality systems to combat humidity and mold, interior renovations, and site work. Sun shades were removed to create an open-air environment and allow more natural light to enter the classroom and administrative spaces. Sitework addressed water drainage issues that have plagued the site for years, in addition to rehabilitated pedestrian and vehicular traffic patterns.
