Newfield Construction was proud to be apart of the State’s first Net Zero School, an innovative new elementary school that consolidates the existing three elementary schools into a single, state-of-the-art facility. The achievement of net-zero status is largely attributable to the strategic integration of geothermal and solar technologies. The building’s design features a highly efficient envelope that effectively maintains heating and cooling through advanced high-efficiency systems. Additionally, all classrooms are oriented to the south to optimize natural sunlight, thereby reducing reliance on artificial lighting. In support of our sustainability goals, the construction process emphasized the use of raw materials, particularly wood, which was incorporated both structurally and in various finishing elements throughout the interior of the school.
