Newfield Construction was selected to provide Preconstruction and Construction Management services for the improvements to Smalley Elementary School. The addition and renovation project provides adequate and appropriate classroom space to accommodate the expected enrollment and programs of the school well into the future. Project improvements also meet the current building code requirements for schedule, health, safety, and access.
The project’s scope entailed all spaces within the building, including the classrooms, library, media center, a 360-seat auditorium, cafeteria, administrative offices, health services suite, and art, music, and gymnasium. The project was designed to meet high-performance build specifications and adhere to LEED construction standards.
This project aimed to meet several different education-related requirements as a K-5 Elementary School and provide modern computer labs and technology upgrades in all new classrooms. A Family Resource Center is also available to all parents/guardians. Extensive Site improvements addressed bus and parent vehicular safety pattern issues.
