Newfield Construction constructed this 22,000-square-foot, two-building brick and glass facility. The housing component offers six apartments of 1,000 square feet, each with either a one-bedroom single-story or one-bedroom plus loft space. The apartments feature windows and balconies, providing plenty of light and air. The building’s exterior skillfully blends nautical sculpture into the façade, acknowledging Madison’s Long Island Sound location.

The 9,000-square-foot retail facility is designed in the classic mill style with exposed steel trusses that eliminate the need for interior columns and transom windows for indirect natural lighting. The window wall systems and metal roofs create high ceilings with excellent internal visibility from the street, and the exposed ductwork adds to the interior’s allure.
